Dedicated to the waves

As a youngster, Oliver Hartkopp surfed with his older brother, Christoffer Hartkopp, and was immediately captivated by the sport. Already at the age of 13, he made the decisive decision: "I'm going to spend my whole life on this."

To pursue his passion, Oliver adapted his life to surfing and moved from Zealand to Klitmøller, known as Denmark's best surf spot. Since then, he has been riding the waves and chasing his dreams.

With a total of seven Danish championships, participation in both the EC and WC, Oliver now dreams of representing Denmark at the Olympics in surfing. His journey is a testament to dedication, willpower and love of the sea. 🌊

Driven by passion, not profit

For Oliver Hartkopp, it is never the financial gains that have driven him. Surfing is not a particularly lucrative sport, and his livelihood depends on sponsorships and collaborations with brands. During the Corona crisis, this existence was put to a serious test when almost all of his sponsors withdrew. It was a period that forced him to doubt whether he could even succeed in making a living from his sport.

But Oliver fought through and stands today as the only Dane who makes a living from surfing. However, not everyone understands his passion – he is often met with the question: "Can you even surf in Denmark?"

Despite the uncertainty and the many challenges, Oliver has never doubted that he is on the right path. He can't imagine being stuck in an office and not being able to go out on the water when the waves call. For him, life is about freedom, adventure and a deep connection to something greater.
