Alex's Journey from Go-Kart to Racing

At the age of 12, Alex was bitten by go-karting and the dream of racing, a passion that quickly turned into a lifelong love. Already at his first go-kart race, he took home the victory and fell head over heels in love with the sport. After several years of go-karting, where he won five club championships and was third in Jydecup, which secured him the entry ticket to the World Championship in Le Mans, he began to look ahead to bigger challenges. Last year he finished second in Jydecup (Jutland-Fyn Championship), which confirmed his talent.

As he got older, Alex realized that racing was going to be his future. He therefore put the go-kart days on the shelf and chose to bet everything on becoming a racing driver. After dropping out of 2.g, Alex has now chosen to go all-in on chasing the dream while he still has the chance.

But being a racing driver is not all about speed and precision; there is also an exciting and demanding professional aspect behind the sport. In order to be at the forefront of the field, the necessary finances must be in place. Alex therefore also has to navigate the challenges that come with securing sponsorships and financial support that can keep him running on the road to the top.

Being Ready for Any Challenge

For Alex Maansen, mental strength is just as important as skills behind the wheel. In motorsport, the ability to stay focused and remain calm under extreme pressure is essential. Alex works daily with his mental approach to be able to handle the intense situations on the pitch.

When he sits in the car, he fights against doubt and fear of mistakes that can cost dearly. But Alex knows that the key to success lies in embracing the challenges, learning from failures, and coming back stronger. By focusing on the next task—next turn, acceleration, braking point—he keeps a cool head and is always ready for the next challenge.
